Our first traditional GC.....

This past conference weekend went well......The past conferences were just weekends to not do anything and to sleep in....In Philadelphia we would meet at the church and with 4 kids it was hard to sit and pay attention to what was being said.....it wasn't much fun to get the kids dressed to just go and be distracted and not be able to hear the message.....how ever this time around I really wanted to start my own traditional GC weekend.....So I looked up stuff on line and my ward awesome Primary presidency handed out neat packets of activities for the kids to do during conference.....

So Friday night we set up a tent in front of the TV and read the story of King Benjamin....King Ben was a king in the Book of Mormon and was a good king.......when he was going to speak at a temple people and families from all around came to hear him....these families brought their tents set the openings to the tents towards the king....and each family to their own tent....so we set up our tent towards the TV...toward where the Prophet would speak from....

My crazy babies
we then moved it over towards the door.....the babies kept taking it apart and we kept needing the chairs to sit at the table to eat...
Saturday morning Angel made pancakes...which we all love.....
During the first session on Saturday we played a game where for a certain word there was a certain candy so every time a word was said we would have that piece of candy....it worked for a while and Ayla was paying close attention but the babies wanted to keep eating so I had to put the candy away....
The after the first session the kids needed to go run off some energy so I took them to Tumbleweed park....they played sooo well....Isaiah followed Gooby the whole time and Ayla followed sariah...good thing cause that playground is Huge and there were so many kids....

excuse the weird random people in the shots....they thought my family was awesome so they wanted to be in the shot in some way....;)

here they were all following each other....I love having my kids....they look out for each other...
Grandmom is Awesome....look at Isaiah's sneaker skates....he just so happened to have spider man pads also.....getting ready to go to Mcqueen park after the second session on Saturday with the moms and their kids......
I needed more steering fluid before I left...my car was making loud nosies.....took him long enough to do it....;)

After we had played at Mcqueen we we able to spend time and have dinner at a friends house....

The next morning started another blessed day....New friends of ours came over for the morning session and ended up staying until 3:30pm....They brought over Bingo and that kept the kids busy and focused on conference......Ayla and Isaiah both won..... the wife and I could not stop talking....Angel and the husband couldn't stop talking...and the kids fell in love with both of them.....
For dinner we were able to go over to an old friends house and spend some time with her mom...Overall..it has been a blessed weekend and I know the week ahead will be great also....

I know that As long as you are doing what you need to be doing and serving in any way that you can....life will be filled with joy....

Sounds like it was a fun successful weekend, maybe I will have to call you in six months for the next one to find things to keep Annalise entertained!
