The Grand Canyon

So we decided one Sunday to just head up to the GC after church. We really just needed to find a place where we could get a spiritual high.

We headed out about 3 and had no idea what was in store for us. The map said it would take 4 hrs to get there. Whats 4 hours compared to the 6 we drove to CA.

It was so amazing to see the sites of the land while driving up RT 17. On the news it only shows a road heading north with names of small towns scattered about. So it was amazing to see that it wasn't just road. So as you can see we were able to see some Table tops (AKA mesas)

The sky was gorgeous I only wish you were here to see it cause the camera can only do so much.

For awhile once you turn onto rt 180 towards the canyon it gets kind of creepy cause there is nothing around except signs for cow and deer crossings. Sometimes there would be a brave rabbit run across.

This was the last picture I took before my batteries ran out and hence I wasn't able to take any pictures of the canyon. Good one Kendy. However the experience was amazing. I wanted to cry because of the beauty of such an amazing creation the Lord had created. I was still on that high for hours after we left. We wanted to stay but we didn't have extra clothes plus Ayla's last soccer game was the next day. We will go back again and stay for a couple of days.
